Welcome home with love. There is nothing sweeter than to capture newborn portraits in a room filled with love; and it doesn’t get any better than a nursery. The baby's room! The one room in the house put together with the most care in anticipation of the new life that will fill its walls with laughter, cries and giggles. Miss Mila’s room is the perfect combination of soft pinks, grays and blues. The décor and furniture is fit for a princess. The warmth of the natural window light that shined in during her session was truly magical.

Photographing a newborn can have challenging moments, but I find their portraits to be the most rewarding. One thing I learned when I became a Mom was regardless of how much control I pretend that I have, the baby is the boss. Even sweet Mila took her time when it came to having her portraits made. I didn’t mind because I got to witness a beautiful bond between her and her new family.

In my experience, I have found that the best portraits often come from lots of patience. Miss Mila had many wonderful, perfect, sweet movements that made her portraits come to life. I have never photographed a newborn that smiled as much as this little angel. Her demeanor made me feel as though she was born to be in front of a camera. Miss Mila’s outfit was purchased long before she arrived and certainly fit her personality perfectly.

Looking back on the first few months of my own daughter’s life, I remember thinking I cannot wait for her to sleep – but in reality I would love to have those days back; to be up in the middle of the night when the world is quiet, to watch her sleep so peaceful and snug. I know that this new Mommy and Daddy will enjoy every second of their family time and I hope that these portraits will allow them to hold on to these precious moments forever and ever.
