"There is something beautiful and magical in everything.. you just have to look at it with the eyes of your heart."

Miss Jorja can’t speak too many words yet, but she sure does love her animal sounds! You would think that growing up with two of the fluffiest kitties her first animal sound would be ‘meow’. Yeah, not in our house! Thanks to lots of story time with her Daddy and a book called ‘Dear Zoo’, our little fire cracker has been shouting the cutest little lion “R-O-A-R” for many months now. There couldn’t have been a more perfect costume to fit her this Halloween.
What started out as a portrait idea for two cute little lions, Miss Jorja and her BFF Oliver, quickly turned into the Wizard of Oz cast, complete with a Tin Man and a Dorothy. After seeing the pet costumes at our local pet store, I just couldn’t pass this one up. After all, you only have so many Halloweens that you get to choose what they will wear; and at 19 months, let’s face it – she has no idea what is going on, but this session sure was fun!

So many people ask 'How do you photograph all 3 of them'? Honestly, one word: Patience. Okay, patience and a whole lot of magic. My husband often thinks I am nuts, but in the end, every second that we spend preparing and creating the portraits is worth it. Our beautiful kits are only a few months older than Miss Jorja and I have been photographing all of them since the day that they came home. Oliver and Chloe are two of the most gentle and loving cats that I have ever known. Oliver, being the protective big brother, spends most of his days following Miss Jorja around the house and nights cuddled up with Chloe by our feet. At the moment, it’s like photographing 3 toddlers - Chloe wants nothing to do with being on set, Oliver is just happy being around us and Miss Jorja, well, she just lets her fierce little personality continue to shine.

I'm eternally grateful for these tiny moments. Grateful. Thankful. And blessed. <3 Happy Halloween, everyone!
