Cakesmash and birthday session for adorable (soon-to-be) one year olds
We made a wish. And two came true. - Unknown

I love to photograph children. Ask me to capture adorable twins and I literally count down the days to the session like a kid counting to Christmas. When this creative Mom presented me with her ideas to capture her twin one year old’s first birthday portraits I was more than excited. We communicated for months planning the session – the location, the props and most importantly picking the perfect time of day to work around naps.
We choose to meet at a park local to their home ~ a park that Mom grew up spending many days in. The details that went into the portraits were meticulously chosen by Mom. Most of their outfit for the cake smash was hand made by Mom and Grandma. The banner, the necklace, even the shorts – all made with love, all made by hand. They even took the kids to the local Home Goods to stand in different baskets until they found the perfect one to use in the balloon portrait.

The cool breeze on this perfect late summer afternoon helped add character to the balloons and props and cool off the adults working behind the scenes to make sure every detail including happy babies was met. The little loves were fortunate not only to have their parents there, but also their grandparents. Good thing, because there sure was a lot of frosting to clean up when they were done.
